Frequently Asked Questions About Data Lifecycle Management

What is data lifecycle management?

Data is growing in volume, variety and value. Research has shown that the amount of data is doubling every two years and will continue to do so through the end of the decade.1 Organisations are not only producing more data, they are required to save 1 “The Digital Universe of Opportunities: Rich Data and the Increasing Value of the Internet of Things,” IDC, April 2014 more data—and more types of data— to meet regulatory requirements and respond to potential e-discovery requests. How onsite media destruction works

1. Generate a service order
2. An Iron Mountain driver will arrive at your company site
3. The service information of each scanned asset (if itemised) is captured in the Iron Mountain's driver's handheld device
4. The assets are then shredded onsite in Iron Mountain's secure Mobile Shredding Unit
5. At the end of the service stop, electronic signatures are requested to acknowledge service completion
6. The asset information will be transmitted to Iron Mountain's database in real time
7. You will receive a certificate of destruction
